Last Friday (13 April 2012) I gave a short presentation to a couple of people regarding digital marketing titled “Digital Marketing Overview”. This is not a presentation for the hard-core digital marketer and the goal was simply to educate the participants on what is possible with digital marketing.

Digital marketing has evolved quite drastically over the last couple of years. Back in they day it was simple to get a website and only apply the art of search engine optimization (SEO) on it to get good organic rankings on the search engines. Today, it involves much more than just a website and social media is starting to play a big role with your digital marketing initiatives.

On the “Digital Marketing Overview” presentation, I focus on SEO, PPC and Social Media Marketing and the advantages and disadvantages in using them. Together with the advantages and disadvantages, I included a short strategy that you can use if you would like to get started with any one of them.

This is the first presentation in a series I’m busy creating and the next one will focus more on social media marketing and how you can apply social media to your existing marketing campaigns.

Digital Marketing Overview

Final notes

Even though most of the content on the slides has been discussed on thousands of blog posts, books, whitepapers and other online sources, it is still very important to educate people on what is possible with digital marketing, and how your business can benefit by using the web for marketing purposes to spread the word about your business.
