Most corporate websites and blogs are boring and plain, and thus failing to add any value to potential and current customers. Many corporate websites are not interactive and doesn’t have the ability to let visitors share interesting content on their website via social media, and they don’t utilize the power of videos, quotes, and testimonials.
In my opinion, business websites needs to get more social because that is where the online world is heading. Millions of conversations are happening everyday on Facebook and Twitter. Want to be part of the discussion? The need to get your website and profile on the social web is becoming more essential every day because people want to do business with real people that they trust and that they know. Social media marketing is not a buzz word anymore, it’s a reality.
How are you going to make your website more engaging and social for your visitors? Find a couple of tips below that can help you transforming your website.
Social interactive website
Social sharing: Add social sharing buttons on all content, articles, blog posts, videos, and photos that are posted on your website. Using social sharing buttons such as the “Twitter Tweet This”, “Facebook Share”, and “Google+ +1” buttons, allows your visitors to share your content to their own social media profiles, encouraging their network to visit your website. Social signals also plays an important role with your organic SEO rankings so this can help your overall marketing campaign.
Comments: Allow interested visitors to share ideas and comment on your social content such as your blog posts.
Social friendly website: A website that is social friendly needs to constantly change, but it will keep your website impressive, entertaining, and interesting. This can also give you a chance to learn and experiment with various social technologies.
Evaluate your content: Never be afraid to give your audience the ability to evaluate your content, and giving them the opportunity to interact with your business and brand. You will be bringing them into your own “network” and at the same time increasing their loyalty.
Promoting your network: Engage and interact with your visitors so that they can join your network on the social media channels that you are using. You can also share your blog posts and other interesting content that your network will find visible to your social media channels to enhance your visibility on the network.
These are just a few basic tips to transform your website to be more social and interactive.
Hi Anton,
this is so true: Most company websites are boring and annoying and they’re obvsiously in love with themselves that they forget about the customer. The advice you give is plain common sense. I mean this in an appreciative sense of course because it’s so easy to get side-tracked by false promises of what social media can do on the hand and the fear of don’t-rock-the-boat-departments in companies on the other.
Thanks for sharing your insights.
Take care
Oliver
