This has been a busy week with my trip to Cape Town where I met some very talented coders (programmers) that thinks out of the box. The first blog post this week was about QR codes and using them in your digital marketing strategy.
I noticed that there’s quite a few people online still worried about the Google Panda update and I was asked a couple of times whether article marketing is still a good choice for online marketing – it is. Read the post below to see my answer.
Using QR codes in your digital marketing strategy
What are QR codes and do people know how to use them? Can people really be bothered in using them? QR codes have been around for a while but they are only becoming popular now. QR codes are often used by billboard advertising and magazines.
Google Panda: Are you still focusing on article marketing?
Google’s farmer update (Panda) was introduced a couple of months ago and it was implemented to eliminate most of the low quality sites from Google’s search result pages (SERP’s). Many people believes that this major update was the instant death of article marketing and so they changed their digital marketing strategies.
Take advantage of popular social networks
Over the last few years we have seen the demise of a couple of Web 2.0 channels such as Myspace and Bebo. Facebook has been king in this arena since its launch in 2004. So far, Facebook has over 750 million users making it the biggest social network ever. Twitter was born in 2006 and grew into popular social media channel also used by millions worldwide to engage on the real time activity stream. Google+ that was launched this year already has over 25 million users and it will not be long before it is also integrated onto many social media marketing strategies.
Social media marketing: Using LinkedIn for PPC
In my experience when working with clients and you mention the word “social media marketing“, the Web 2.0 channels they immediately think about are Twitter and Facebook. Why do you need anything else? While LinkedIn is not as popular as the other two, LinkedIn has over 100 million users. That is a big user base that could consist of many potential prospects for your business. Why do you want to ignore this?
